Support Hild Bede Boat Club
This year has been one of change at Hild Bede. While our Boat Club remains one of the most active and welcoming groups on campus, the closure of our usual landing stage has tested our resilience, requiring us to haul boats down the river every training session. We are incredibly grateful and lucky to now boast a brand new landing stage, with many thanks going to the very generous alum and our college for making it happen.

Despite these challenges, the club is thriving. We've welcomed the largest intake of novices in recent years, nearly double that of last year, and are committed to keeping rowing inclusive and accessible. To support this, we’ve worked hard to subsidise membership, ensuring we remain one of the most affordable clubs around.

As a student-run organisation, we rely on donations to keep our club thriving, maintain our equipment, and invest in new assets. All financial contributions will go directly towards the upkeep of our boats and, in the future, help us secure a brand-new 4+ boat.
​
We also welcome other forms of support for the club, and would welcome anyone who is willing to donate time, goods or offer sponsorship for our club. Please do not hesitate to get in touch!
Our Fundraising
A new 4+
As much as we love our top boats, our growing squad and increasing competition mean some of our second boats are no longer suitable for top crews. Currently, we have only one competitive 4+ (Icon), which creates a challenge at Durham Regatta, where both our Men’s and Women’s top 4s race simultaneously, leaving one squad with an inferior boat.​

As a student-run organisation, we rely on donations to keep the club thriving, maintain equipment, and invest in the future. We’ve already raised over £1,000 through our recent 24-hour row and are continuing to fundraise towards the purchase of a new 4+.
